Fifteen years ago, a young man named Satoshi Kondo fell in love with the 1000hp KOENIG-Competition Spider, and set about the purchase and customization of his own Ferrari Testarossa. He took off the roof, widened the body to his liking, powered up the engine, improved the steering, strengthened the frame, and finally got authorization to take the car out on public roads. Even today, this car is still in his garage. The obsession with the power-ups and customizations he had made to his car continued to grow. Next, he would become entranced by Lamborghinis, leading to his creation of a Diablo 6.0 with an enormous rear wing and engine tuning that allowed him to cruise past 350km/h. Unsatisfied simply to drive on public roads, Satoshi Kondo began to drive his car on circuits and awoke to the world of racing. He gradually became more and more involved in the racing world, and enjoyed incorporating his private themes into regulation-based original machines. While he was pursuing the limits of speed, society at large began to raise the question “what is a car?” Satoshi knew his answer. He took a break from racing and began his plans to take high-end luxurious and powerful cars to even more luxurious and more powerful heights. More luxury. More power. The best of the best. With the words “if I could drive with the greatest feeling...” in his mind, Satoshi began his quest to develop such a car. Satoshi Kondo gathered specialists in every aspect of car customization and tuning in order to realize this ambition, and in 2007 he established ASI Corporation. For the company’s first project, he decided on the Bentley GT/GTC and Flying-spur, aiming to improve on the normal design with a more aggressive and sportier body, while not forgetting to give the engine all the power necessary to follow through on the car’s threatening new appearance. The ASI-Bentley was completed and saw its world debut at the 2007 SEMA show in Las Vegas, Nevada. The styling of and philosophy behind ASI’s design has earned widespread support from many users, and brought in a flood of inquiries from around the globe. Satoshi Kondo, seeking to build upon his company’s continually rising image, is looking forward to the April 2008 Bahrain Motor Show, where ASI will announce the production of a complete car. Using the Bentley Continental GT as a base, every section and every part, including the new wide body, will exude Japanese taste and attention to detail. The 800 horsepower complete car will be entirely Japan-made, and production limited to 29 units worldwide. In addition, Mr. Kondo has set his sights on piloting one of these cars in the new Gulf region Cannonball rally. |
