....some other circumstances!? came up and I couldn't go to the circuit.....!?

(Sorry everyone.)

CIMG7080

But I did get a phone call from Suzuka after the race was over about the results.

We still have room to improve the chassis handling! was the announcement.

Thanks for your hard work everyone.

To change the topic, I got a souvenir from our staff the other day!!!

..........hm? Baum Kuchen!?

CIMG7117 CIMG7118

This is mega-delicious!!!

* Lloyd (one of our American staff) and I stealthily devoured it together.

He had lots of praise for this delicious food too!!!

As I was writing this blog... and eating Nenrinka's Baum Kuchen with Lloyd... "Ah..........!!!!"

Sorry everyone, we ate it all.

It was really delicious, so if I can get my hands on it I'll get some for everyone!

I get the feeling I'm doing a lot of apologizing today....

Today's bonus

It's ASI's upcoming release.... the Big Diffuser!

You can install it without any modifications not only on cars with ASI's rear bumper, but on cars with the normal rear bumper as well!!!

And about the other questions, I'll tell you next time.

Today we were lucky to have some barely good weather, and I visited a Garage Yamaichi & Lamborghini racer's gathering.

The location was Suzuka circuit!!!

CIMG70911 CIMG7020

......what did I go for!?

.............let's just say it was for a product demonstration for the Video VBOX that I introduced the other day.

the person who installed it for us was, somone who had just held their marriage ceremony 3 days ago.........!?

Note: I got permission from Garage Yamaichi's CEO to use this picture...

(Samurai style, looking good! + a beautiful wife, I'm so envious!?  Congratulations.)

From Garage Yamaichi, the newly married Mr. Soga's beloved car!

We installed it on a Porshe GT3, and went to collect race data!!!

CIMG7071 CIMG7073

We finished the race without incident, got our data, and wowed everyone when we showed them.

Everyone was impressed and we received lots of complimentary words for the kit!!! (even though ASI didn't develop it...)

The race was over very quickly, and from my acquaintences in the Suzuka circuit staff,

I was given a tour of the newly built control tower and circuit collection hall.

First we go up to the 3rd floor.

CIMG7074 CIMG7075

Then inside.....!?

Awesome! Beautiful! Cool!!

CIMG7077 CIMG7079

Apparently when there's a big race, these seats are full of staff contolling the monitors and communicating with headphones...but!?

The staff hasn't quite adjusted to this modern system.....

And if there is a crash or emergency, I hear they all take off the headphones and start yelling and using gestures (smile)!!!

and.... they opened it up special for me!!!

Today, the first ASI F430 finished its fittings!!!

Front

Rear

I visited the workshop the owner had chosen for installation and witnessed the fittings.

That's Japan-made!!! ..... ASI-made!!!! (Sorry to toot my own horn.)

I get a feeling some here in Japan are going to think "of course it is!" but....

I think there's a pretty big cultural difference.

Japanese are, "detailed"?  Or maybe a better word is "methodical"!  (one of the reasons Japanese are known around the world!!!)

Parts from other countries are like... who cares if it fits as long as it looks good, it's okay!! (take care of the adjustments yourself!!!)

And even problems with base cars....!?

Japanese cars are great because they're very precise!

Imported cars are... well, the per-car variation compared to Japanese cars is suprising!!!

...........I'll stop my griping here but, Everyone, come and get your kits to install!!!

F430_2B

* This is a rough image....

To change topic, if you look at the rear photo I think you'll notice but,

This product can be used with the factory muffler without modifications, or!

Do you see the circular areas on the sides of the number plate!?

That's where ASI's original exhaust muffler, which we're developing at a quick pace, will go!!!

The finished product should come out wonderfully. (The muffler in the CG is a little fat so it looks awkward, though...)

About the rear bumper, because the F430 rear exudes so much heat, we're going to make it easier for the heat to escape than with the factory piece.

* I would recommend removing the number plate if you take the car out on the circuit or put it to other high-speed uses.

We still have lots of products under development, and I'm looking forward to telling you about them on a later date.

Air Suspension Controller!? PDF Print
Written by ASI CEO
Thursday, 04 June 2009 13:53

I just remembered...... (recently my forgetfulness has been....)

Our previously available Bentley-only air suspension controller!!!

...can now be installed on the Porshe Cayenne, Audi 87 and Q7!!!

suspension

For Bentley, we've tested controllers from around the world.

When compared to others, our controller is the best of the best!

The reason is, number one, that the installation can be done very easily!

Also, you can still use the normal suspension switch.... in addition to the added switch to change the height!

Compared to other modules... for me pesonally, at least.... the best advantage is...!!!

By adjusting the screws on the box, you can fine tune the front and rear height, or even drop it all the way down so to super-low, so the tires touch the roof of the tire house... of course you can do the opposite and put it in super-high-style too!!!

* some of the Bentley Continental series owners here in Japan are using link rods to adjust their suspension.

And certainly, that's the most reasonable (cheapest) way to adjust the car height......

But when you lower the height with a link rod....

The adjustment range from low to high is still the same, so the factory high setting is

that much lower than the normal high setting. Please be careful!!!

Okay! Next!

F430_1B1

We're considering changing the body color!!!

Anyway, the 360 Modena is the same way but the rear engine area.... get's extremely hot!!!

"Can I install this body kit!?"

...we've been getting requests from a 360 owners... I think the kit will install if you make some adjustments but....

We're going to try fitting it onto a real car and then testing it, so I'll let you know the results.....

Plus!!!

We've been approached for few discussions now about an ASI 360 kit, so we're considering it!!!

(The wing is OK for the 360!!!!!)

And about the wheel, we've decided on a 19 inch!!!

We're moving forward with plans to do it for the 360 and 430, but I have to ask all owners planning to change their wheels to wait a little longer!!!

June 1st in Japan!!! PDF Print

Today in Japan, the new traffic laws laws come into effect!!!

What changes!? .... Drinking!!!

When you receive a Japanese driver's license, you are awarded 15 points...

You can maintain your license by keeping your points and getting regular renewals.

In Japan, there are of course lots of other traffic crimes, but this time special focus was on drunk driving!!!

See the changes below.... I did my best to simplify them.

Driver Condition: Severe Intoxication (Officer's Judgement)

  Violation Points Punishment Duration
Before Revision 25 License Revoked 2 Years
After Revision 35 Lincense Revoked 3 Years

Driver Condition: Mild Intoxication (BAC >0.25)

  Violation Points Punishment Duration
Before Revision 13 License Suspended 90 Days
After Revision 25 Lincense Revoked 2 Years

Driver Condition: Mild Intoxication (BAC 0.15-0.25)

  Violation Points Punishment Duration
Before Revision 6 License Suspended 30 Days
After Revision 13 Lincense Suspended 90 Days

- Extended duration of license revocations
The maximum period a license may be revoked for has been extended from 5 to 10 years.

- Stricter punishment for relief responsibility violations (hit and run)
Relief responsibility violations (failing to call for help in the event of an accident), is now an established crime, and if the driver is alone the punishment is 35 violation points and license revocation for 3 years.

- Stricter punishment for vehicular assault, reckless driving
Newly established law for vehicular murder, 62 violation points. 45-55 points (depending on the extent of victim's wounds) if the victim survives.
Newly established law for vehicular manslaughter, 62 violation points. 45-55 points (depending on the extent of victim's wounds) if the victim survives.

Well in Japan, whether you're a car lover or not.....

it's just like the catch phrase says, "If you drink don't drive, if you drive don't drink!!!"

And so to everyone in Japan, particularly those driving ASI Bentleys and Ferraris,

Today I recommend!!! this!!!

image

"Kirin Free": Non-Alcoholic Beer-Taste Beverage

image_3 image_4

I previously drank it together with a dark beer for comparison, and it was vaguely sweet... with a sort of fruity quality!!

It tasted good!!!

CIMG6974

By the way, this beer was announced by Kirin on 2009, April 8th, as the world's first 0.00% non-alcohol beer.

Until now, other "non-alcoholic" beers that have been available here in Japan have not been 0% alcohol....

They are allowed to label themselves as "non-alcohol" if there is less than 1% alcohol....

If you drink a lot of non-alcohol beer that is not 0 percent, you can still get intoxicated...

So everyone, myself included, let's becareful about our alcohol intake!!!

Today's beautiful... butt? Car!

I gave this entry a pretty heavy title but... there's not much differet from normal.

Here we go.... our latest unveiling!!!

CIMG6908

An ordinary cardboard box!!!

Ta-daa!

CIMG6910

Everyone, do you know what this is!?

.......that's right! It's a tool box from a local hardware store!!!...???

No, that's not right! Let's check the contents!

CIMG6914

..........a wire tap!?  ........a surveillance camera set!?

Wrong!!!

Well there are two cameras, and some other suspicious devices.... but...

The name is "Video VBOX"!!!

I used to use this a long time ago when I was racing....

In a nutshell, this collect and records all kinds of data on the car's condition and driver's technique,

it's a really great item!!! (GPS included)

We used this previously at places like the Suzuka Circuit and Fuji Speedway to gather our ASI F430 data.

Like this....

CIMG6987

And this...

CIMG6993

(I personally can't make full use of it without asking the staff for help, though....)

But you can get all kinds of data, like the course map, current location, speed, G-force, lap time, and more!!!!

And driver mistakes don't go unnoticed either!!

We're currently planning to participate in the Ferrari Trophy Race at the Okayama International Circuit on July 18th.

* We're planning to go with... more than one ASI F430 kitted Ferrari!!!

(Will we make it on time!?)

Today's bonus

Nagoya at night and some fabulous cars!

Japanese Tuning Car!? PDF Print
Written by ASI CEO
Tuesday, 26 May 2009 03:39

_S13_3

One of the most well known cars in the Japanese tuning world... the S13 Silvia,

or mixed and matched with the 180SX, the Sil-80/1-Via,

popular for it's reasonable price, this symbolic car!!!

Got worked on by the professor of the west, "6666" (four-six)!!!

I've seen this car before in person, and remember thinking that it looked like

it was starting to reach a questionable age, somewhere between usable and a friend of the classics.

But I thought it looked really cool, so I talked to some friends and searched the internet and....

that ridiculously famous 6666!!! I was surprised!!

ESC_0017 ESC_0137

ESC_00601 ESC_0018

The above pictured car was put together in England!!!

A black body with a gold line! It's just too slick!!!

The price doesn't match up with Bentley or Ferrari, but if affordability = satisfaction, then this car definitely wins!

Looking at the aftermarket parts industry from an international perspective, there are still a lot of unbalanced tuning companies...

......but if I start on this topic, I won't be able to stop my opinions.....

Anyway, for ASI's part, we want to move forward with our tuning model by model, with a clear concept!!!

gview

Alongside ASI's F430 body kit, which was announced in Genroq, on sale today here in Japan,

we're developing thoroughly, testing our installed F430 parts to make sure they're performing 120%

And from here on.......

Some confidential!? ...secret talk? Just between us....

......I hope it's okay to talk about this....???

Let's start with a simple issue.....

ASI's F430 Body kit's merit!!!

Not only is the appearance changed, but by changing from the Ferrari parts, the car is now 20kg lighter!!!

If you're thinking car weight isn't so important, try looking at all the modern supercars!?

Not only Ferrari, but weight is important for all cars!!!

* Less load on the car, engine, tires, and other functional parts means better fuel efficiency and increased power!!!

And our currently under-development Exhaust system!!! This is a real pain!!!

.................................there, I said it!?

From here on, a Q&A with my personal perspective!!!

Q: "Why?"
A: "Because it's naturally aspirated!!!"

Q: "???"
A: "If you change the exhaust... and it's normally aspirated... how much power do you get?"

Q: "Aren't there lots of other tuners making it?"
A: "I don't know about overseas, but here in Japan no place that I'm aware of has measured performance before and after the exhaust change."

Q: "What about ASI's exhaust???"
A: "Honestly, we've tested a few F430s, and we're going to fit, race, and measure our parts' performance, then release the best product."

Q: "How much of a power up can you do?"
A: "Honestly, we're aiming for 10 to 20 additional horsepower...!!!
Even if our calculations are off, we won't be able to get more than 50 additional horsepower (just out of the exhaust!!!)

And one more thing I can say with confidence is,

ours will be lighter than the normal exhaust!!!

* Note!!!

For cars with ASI's F430 rear bumper installed, our double tipped exhaust will locate the tips on the side of the license plate.

It's going to look very cool!!!

I'll announce more specific data when it's released!!!
